Test
for identified:
for lawsone: boil powder in
20ml of water for one minute filter, the filtrate is orange to orange brown in
color.
1. Add 2ml of dilute HCL to 2ml of the previous filtrate, the color fades
away.
2. Add 2ml of KOH T.S to 2ml of the
filtrate a deep orange color is produced.
3. Add 2ml of dilute ammonia solution to 2ml of the filtrate a titan red
color is produced.
4. Add 2ml of NaCO3 (5%) solution to 2ml of the filtrate an orange yellow color
is produced.
