3. Datura Leaf

Bot.origin: the dried leaves of Datura stramonium & other species 
F: Solanaceae
Active constituent: Alkaloids (Hyosine, hyoscyamine)
Key element (microscopically examination):
            1.  Anisocytic stomata
                       2. Covering hair: multi-cellular (uni-seriate)
           3. Glandular hair with short stalk (unicellular stalk with multi-cellular head)              
 Uses:
           1. Anti-spasmodic
          2. Motion sickness
         3. Mydratic
Test for identified:
-sake vigorously about 0.2g of powdered stramonium leaf with 2ml of dilute Hcl acid, filter for 3min. filter, and add to the filtrate a drop of potassio-mercuric iodide T.S precipitate is formed.
Report in the lab.
