Medicinal Bark 1. Cinchona bark


                           

                                Bot.origin: The dried bark of Cinchona succirubra   
F: Rabiaceae
Active constituent:
quinine, quinidine, cinchonine & cinchonidine                               
Key element (microscopically examination):
1. Phloem fiber (single or with calcium oxalate)
2. Scleriedes in bark of root only
Identification (Quinine)
1gm of sample + 10ml of ethanol  filtration → take 1ml of filtrate + drop by drop of dil H2SO4→ blue fluorescent  
                                                                                                                            
  Uses:
1.     Anti-malaria
2.     Cardiac arrhythmia                   
               Report in the lab.
