Clinical manifestations of asthma

-Recurrent bouts of coughing
            -     Shortness of breath
            -     Chest tightness
            -     Wheezing

Investigation:

1-Complete patient history

2-Arterial blood gases (O2 and CO2)

3-Spirometer

 

Spirometer : The patient inhales as deeply as possible then exhales forcefully and completely into mouth piece. The forced expiry volume (FEV) =75% or more indicated normal lung
